Bible Club
Bible Club is for children ages 3 through 9th grade and meets in the River of Hope Youth Center
the first Wednesday of each month September-May. Children ride the bus to the center after school. This is a blended
age group with the older kids helping with the younger aged children. After school snack, games, scripture lesson and
prayer, special events including bowling, swimming, sledding and Sibley State Park are a part of the activities they will do
during Bible Club. They also have some quiet time where they are able to get some homework done. A
supper is included on this night before they go to their Christian Education hour.
WOW (Word on Wednesday)
WOW is Hope Church's Christian Education hour for children ages preschool-6th grade. WOW begins at 6:15 pm
and concludes at 7:15 pm. The children begin the night with 15 minutes of music and then spend 45 minutes in the classroom
with caring adult teachers. Many lessons are taught, games played, craft projects assembled and snacks eaten in class
throughout the year, and attendance has been near perfect since we switched to Wednesday nights.
TAG (Teens and God)
TAG meets on Wednesdays from September-May for 9th-12th graders in the River of Hope Youth Center from 6:15-8:15 p.m.
The first hour is a free time. Youth use this time for homework, hanging out,
playing games and having supper, which they prepare with the food provided. The last hour is their education hour. Faith chats, spiritual
discipline, life topics, prayer stations, and worship are all part of this time. Friends are welcome, as well as any youth who do not
have a home church. During the summer months, special TAG nights occur. Postcards are sent out concerning these summer events.
Confirmation
Confirmation is a 3 year program for 7th-9th graders. The first two years is an in-depth Bible learning time. The last
year of Confirmation is spent learning about the Presbyterian Church, the church year, sacraments, stewardship, reformed theology and much
more. They complete their statement of faith and prepare for their Confirmation. Worship notes are taken the first year; the next two years
are spent helping during worship with ushering, videotaping, putting the announcements and scriputre on the screen, etc.
